Baby Grace's in home bespoke newborn photography session was a dream. She was such a wonderful sleeper and settled so comfortably into most of the poses. One of those special sessions that ran a little long, not because we needed more time... but because I was enjoying it so much and just wanted to make sure her parents had a lovely range of images. I love her selection and how her gallery has come together. It's a lovely mix of beautiful family portraits, baby Grace's little macro features and some lovely posed traditional compositions shot in my minimalist natural style.

Photographed at only 20 days new, our session was scheduled outside the more commonly recommended 14 days window for posed newborn photoshoots, but she rocked it. With covid19, I feel it is so important to be as flexible as possible, not adding any extra anxiety and pressure on new parents. The majority of my photo sessions this year have been scheduled when a baby is around 17-23 days new, as I have a policy now to wait until a family has been discharged from the hospital over 14 days.  This actually works fine for me though and is not actually that new, as even prior to covid19, I was taking traditional newborn photography sessions up to around 30 days new. It definitely helps that I never book more than one session a day, so I can have (very nearly) infinite patience. I'm always happy to offer more soothing and cuddles if we think the little one will settle down, but never pushing them beyond comfort.
