It is fabulous that you have decided to invest in your family and have booked in for a Christmas Photo Shoot! I am so grateful that you have chosen me to photograph you and your tribe. I cannot wait to connect with you to be part of your memory making. This makes for such a lovely annual family Christmas tradition! If you have reached out to me to capture your portraits, it's because you love my portfolio and work. Below is some guidance to make sure that you have a collection you love!
╸ Glamour Ready & on time ╸
This is a very special full day of minis at my studio space, with photo shoots booked back-to-back. I have scheduled these sessions throughout the day to include a 30 minute photo shoot, with only a 15 minutes buffer after each one, so we can do a quick clean up and wipe down of the shooting space, in between each family.
Due to this flow, It is really important that you please arrive 5-10 minutes early to the studio's covered garden terrace. There is a comfy sofa set there to enjoy and there will also be some drinks and nibbles out, for you to help yourself. Arriving early helps to keep the vibe relaxed, so no one gets flustered and we keep a happy vibe. This helps us get the most from your little ones and those magic smiles.
If you are running late, please kindly understand that I may not be able to extend my session with you, as I endeavor to ensure that the sessions do not spill over into the next booked family's spot. If you need help on the day, please feel free to call me on mobile 9443 8806, if I am with my camera, my assistant will pick up the call and endeavor to help you.
╸TWO SET UPS ╸
My studio is is a cozy space and I have two set ups ready for these minis. As you have seen, one is a winter wonderland Christmas tree set up. I love to make your little ones the focus and have the background set the vibes, but not steal the show. For me it is all about those personality portraits, where we get the expressions that are just so very them, and I would love for you to have a full collection, to ensure you have a range of family portraits. To make the most of your time with me, I will work through a flow at a good pace to photograph all of you together, the family combinations (e.g. mum and kids, dad and kids, solo shots, siblings).
The other set up is a minimalist white sofa for you to snuggle in close together and get your annual timeless family portrait refreshed. This set up will have no distractions, just you and yours, in beautiful lighting.
I have some guide notes on wardrobe recommendations below, for your to consider below. Depending on what you love, you can wear neutral tones or your can go all out and embrace the Christmas outfits. Whether that is red and white outfits, or Christmas Jammys! Totally up to you! If you are going all out for Christmas, I do recommend a second clothes option that is more neutral for the timeless family portrait option as well. Then you have best of both!
╸wardrobe guide ╸
Do's
- Choose simple necklines, that don't flutter up and cover faces.
- Feel free to use layers & textures - they always photograph beautifully.
- Consider choosing neutral, warm, lighter, autumnal colour pallets i.e. beige, white, cream, brown, orange, red tones.
- Wear similar tones to each other, but keep in mind that you do not need to be 'matchy-matchy'.
- Embrace any jewelry you would like to wear.
Don't
- Wear bold colours or busy loud patterns, unless that is so your thing :)
- Wear clothes with words splashed across.
- Wear your watch, unless it is sentimental, as the watch face is often distracting.
- Bring an outfit that has not been tried on i.e. please make sure it actually fits, especially little ones.
╸ LittleS ╸
For those bringing little ones I recommend making sure their belly's are not hungry, and they are not due a nap if they still enjoy a siesta. If there are any motivators that may help them to enjoy the session i.e. snacks that don't leave orange food dust and stains everywhere, toys or songs, do bring them along. Please however kindly keep them hidden, until I signal that we might need them. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that usually get those magic smiles from them.

The Lullaby Images Studio is in a wonderful pocket of Hong Kong, and it is a little hidden. I will have some balloons up to mark the entrance to make it a little easier to find, and also have clear directions with images to help you - for full directions, with photographs, please click here!
There is village street parking available near by (note there is a small risk of a parking ticket, however so far there has only been two tickets issued within 24 months).

WHO IS BEHIND LULLABY IMAGES?
Hi! I'm Lu, a Hong Kong photographer specializing exclusively in newborn, baby and family portraits from my home studio in Clear Water Bay. Lullaby Images was established in 2016 and I have extensive training and experience in newborn baby posing and baby safety. With both professional and personal experience with tiny humans, baby safety and comfort is at the heart of all my photo sessions.

WAITLIST
If you have just come across my work and want to try to book a last minute shoot, I usually have a waitlist and will do what I can, where possible. Sometimes additional photo sessions are made available at the end of the month, for the following booking month. After I have updates from my confirmed clients regarding their pregnancies and birth plans, I am sometimes able to wiggle in 1-2 more sessions. If you would like to be waitlisted for these, please do get in contact.
I hate saying 'no', so please help me say it less by reaching out to talk about your newborn photography session well before your due date. I only take on a limited number of bookings a month
and many Mamas reach out to me in their first & second trimester to book in their session.
