I don’t often do blog posts for my maternity photography shoots, only every now and then…. Largely because they are quite personal and intimate. It is an add on photography service that I offer, for clients who are confirmed already for a newborn photography session. They can be done at my home studio, on location weather permitting, or at your home depending on the space and lighting available.

I do my best to make the mama feel great and capture their beautiful belly, so they can cherish the pregnancy and have a lovely collection recording such a special time in their life. Normally it’s a great way to get to know the parents a little before our baby session. For my last bump photography session though, that was not necessary. Less than two weeks ago I had so much fun with friends and their first baby… their fur baby Oliver, a very photogenic Pug!

We had a session inside my home studio, keeping it simple and sweet. Some lovely intimate compositions, some detail shots and some fun images, like the one above, with Oliver. We have a dog in our family too. So I understand how important it is to many, to try to include their fur baby as part of the family compositions too! Normally I try to schedule bump sessions before 36 weeks, for the mother’s comfort and to be on the safe side. We got very lucky with this little one. He was so keen to meet his parents… that he was born only 4 days after this maternity session! I am SO looking forward to his newborn photography session later this month.

I am a Hong Kong based photographer specialising exclusively in newborn and baby portraits, establishing Lullaby Images in 2016. I have extensive training in newborn baby posing and safety. I am a mum to a fiercely independent toddler who loves little adventures. With both professional and personal experience with tiny humans, baby safety and comfort is at the heart of all my photo sessions.

I hate saying 'no'. Help me say it less by reaching out to talk about your newborn photography session well before your due date. I only take on a limited number of bookings a month and many Mamas reach out to me in their second trimester to book in their session.
