This newborn photography session was planned as my last one before I officially put a pause on sessions for my maternity break, scheduled at week 36 in my pregnancy. I had been genuinely surprised at how mobile and flexible (ish) I had continued to be, even in the third trimester, and I believe it must have been down to shifting my sessions to my home studio, instead of travelling to clients homes. I have really enjoyed this month, being blessed to get to know some lovely new mums and cuddling their little ones only made me more and more impatient to meet our own baby girl.

Having a baby is such a profound time in life, one of the biggest life changes and challenges. That is why I offer complete flexibility and patience when it comes to scheduling my newborn photography sessions, only booking a limited number of birth due datges per week. This enables me to offer sessions in my schedule, even if the baby arrrives a little early or later, and allows helps ensure that my schedule can accommodate the families who face a little more of a challenge than others in the beginning.

I first met baby Jasper when he was 10 days new and we took some beautiful family portraits. Though as we moved to his close ups on the newborn posing beanbag, it ended up just being one of those days where he wanted to stay cuddled. It was my pleasure to schedule a mini part two session at 14 days new for him, as it just ended up not being the best day for him. Where possible, I always want my clients to have the best chance at a complete rounded collection where possible. With Jaspet, I was lucky enough to cuddle this little blondie over two days and get to know his lovely mum even more.

Here are a few highlights from my last newborn photography session, before taking a break to have my own little one . . .

I am a Hong Kong based photographer specialising exclusively in newborn and baby portraits, establishing Lullaby Images in 2016. I have extensive training in newborn baby posing and safety. I am a mum to a fiercely independent toddler who loves little adventures. With both professional and personal experience with tiny humans, baby safety and comfort is at the heart of all my photo sessions.

I hate saying 'no'. Help me say it less by reaching out to talk about your newborn photography session well before your due date. I only take on a limited number of bookings a month and many Mama's reach out to me in their second trimester to book in their sesion.
