Introducing baby Kaius. I have to admit, he has one of the most unique baby names that I have come across. With a slight spelling variation, the word ‘Caius’ is the Latin for ‘rejoice’. Isn’t that just lovely?

I visited Kaius’ home for our newborn photography session when he was only 11 days new. Talk about an easy baby, the definition of milk drunk as he enjoyed deep long sleeps. There were a few positions that he appeared to enjoyed a little less, so of course, we moved on to the poses that he was happy to relax into. It is so important to take our cue from these little ones. My newborn photography session are always entirely baby led, with the patience to wait for them settle down after a feed, and never forcing them into any positions they don’t want to be in.

We also had fun with Kaius’ older brother as we took a composite images. When it comes to dynamic toddlers, or even pets, even though they require a bit more planning and post production, composite images are a great way to ensure the finished image works out nicely. I really enjoyed our session capturing all his little details, including his long feathering eyelashes and cute nose. Here are a few images from our session earlier this month.

I am a Hong Kong based photographer specialising exclusively in newborn and baby portraits, establishing Lullaby Images in 2016. I have extensive training in newborn baby posing and safety. I am a mum to a fiercely independent toddler who loves little adventures. With both professional and personal experience with tiny humans, baby safety and comfort is at the heart of all my photo sessions.

I hate saying 'no'. Help me say it less by reaching out to talk about your newborn photography session well before your due date. I only take on a limited number of bookings a month and many Mamas reach out to me in their second trimester to book in their session.
