How are we almost at the end of June already? Where did the last three months go?

I plan to slow things down in July and some of August, to soak up more time with Anya before she starts a new school year with an extended day. From the end of August my studio newborn, baby milestone and maternity sessions will start in the mornings, around 10am, so that I can pick Anya up in the afternoons after the session is over.

I am forever grateful that my clients are understanding and flexible around my family commitments; supporting my endeavours to be a working mum who is present at least half my day with my kids. What does that look like? Sometimes I dash upstairs to quickly cuddle and feed Lucas to help him with his nap (especially if he is teething), while my client's baby is having a top up feed. Sometimes if the session has run longer with the newborn needing more cuddles and soothing, so that we could just get a few more compositions, Anya might walk in bashfully hiding behind my knee after she gets home from kindy, before she runs upstairs for her bath. Sometimes, it's just being flexible and waiting one more day for an edited gallery, because my kids were both sick for a week and I had just been running on empty. This session is to celebrate baby Lily. Her photo session was an absolute dream, and I came out of it riding a high, impatiently wanting to get her soft proof gallery across to her parents. In all my seasons, I endeavour to capture their little one and family together to create the kind of gallery that I would love to have of my own family. A beautifully creative, timeless set of images to celebrate one of the most specialist times in their lives. Baby Lily's collection is exactly what I strive to try and achieve for my clients. My heart did a little happy dance when I was loading the images off my camera. I was just swooning over the posed portion of her session with all her little details. What made it that little bit extra special? The captures of her with her sister and the sweet moments of sibling love. There is so much warmth and love in the family portraits.
